Season one and two were great but the story the show revolved around in season three felt forced and quite predictable. It felt like the writers didn’t know where to go with the story so they made something up that wasn’t as up to scratch as its previous outings. I really couldn’t get into this season and I loved this show.
The marital problems between Bob Lee and Julie were boring. We see this happen in so many shows when one of the characters puts their job first. It’s just too predictable. I really like them as a couple so this storyline annoyed me even though it was realistic. But in the real world if your marriage is suffering and you loved her more than anything in the world wouldn’t you go fight for her? That’s what felt unrealistic about the storyline. Bob Lee loved her but continued to leave knowing his marriage was failing.
This season felt so different from the others. For me, it lost direction and became boring. The finale episode was the best episode of the season, it’s a shame we had to wait so long for it. The ending, if you watch carefully, you’ll pick up on and I’m devastated with what happened. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to spoil it. I’m glad the show has been cancelled now because there really isn’t anything left for these characters and there’ sadly no more stories left in the tank.
I’d recommend the first two seasons to everyone, they’re fantastic. All three seasons can be found on Netflix!
