When Kato wakes up and discovers her lifeless body covered in blood, it doesn’t take her long to discover she has been murdered. She can’t recall the past 24 hours so she doesn’t know how she got there or who murdered her. After wandering around the village she realises that five locals can see her. They’re the only ones who can still see her. Why is it only these five specific people who can still see her? Are they hiding something?

A sensational thrilling Dutch crime drama series. One that will keep you hooked from the very first episode. You won’t be able to stop. There’s a superb atmospheric tension that continues to build as the episodes delve deeper and darker into this small towns sinister secrets. It’s addictive.

Foreign countries really know how to execute murder mysteries. They’re always much more layered and less predictable than any UK or US murder mystery. I would much rather watch foreign dramas these days. This show, like many other foreign murder mystery shows, is unpredictable. It keeps you on your toes and keeps you guessing. It has the ability to flip things upside down when you’re least expecting it. It’s thrill after thrill. An absolute roller coaster. I couldn’t recommend this show enough. Fantastic!

Hotel Beau Sejour season 1 is available to stream right now on Netflix

I like that Netflix and Hulu are branching out and doing many foreign projects. I don’t like subtitles though because I am usually crocheting while ‘watching’ and I can’t keep up with subtitles. Otherwise, it is a breath of fresh air that I’m sure we all need. The premise reminds me of a series that was on a few years ago “Dead Like Me” If you’ve never watched it, give it a try. The main character gets killed by a toilet seat from a plane that is crashing…what a way to go!!!

As someone who loves foreign TV shows, the fact that the likes of Netflix has delved into this world, is its main attraction for me personally. It’s what keeps me subscribed because I know I can watch things from all over the world, it’s incredible! Thank you for the recommendation I’m looking for a new TV show to divulge into next so I will check that out! 🙂
