A less violent Fight Club. Tully is Tyler Durden. Well, not technically but she does a Tyler Durden on us, she’s not real. I’m ashamed to say I didn’t see it coming but that’s because of the fantastic storytelling and acting. It’s a simple plot about a mother trying to raise three children, one being a newborn. Nothing major really happens but it’s intriguing and I couldn’t pull my eyes away. The characters were likeable which helped the minimal plot work.
It’s one of the better films of 2018 and you will be in awe of Charlize Theron, she’s sensational. The twist which reveals Tully isn’t real happens right at the end of the film so just when you think you’re getting to the end everything is turned upside down. It was a shocking and unexpected ending. Great storytelling from everyone involved.
I would definitely recommend this film to anyone. It’s got a short running time of just one hour and a half so it’s easygoing and I’m sure there are many mums out there that will find this super relatable and it may help them recognise that they may need help themselves. Any Juno fans should watch this too.
