A slow start, which leads into a harmless and heart-warming movie about a divorced woman going through a mid-life crisis. You can’t stop yourself from falling in love with Melissa McCarthy’s Deanna, she’s funny, cute and a bit of a mess.
The film delivers some of the best one-liners I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. My favourite being “I think I follow you on twitter” to which Gillian Jacobs character Helen replies “I don’t date my fans.” It had some cracking moments. I often found myself laughing during the film.
It’s a great distraction. Watching this grown woman make bad choices, it makes you forget about your real life. It’s great fun to watch. It’s not the best comedy but it will give you a good laugh and it will make you smile and sometimes that’s what you need from a film.
