Spanish thriller available on Netflix. I loved this! Probably one of my favourite TV shows. I was hooked on episode 1. The characters all have their own little story going on which makes you care about them.
Tokyo is my favourite character and I enjoyed seeing how her relationship with Rio developed. Tokyo is made out to be the main character in the show as she is the one who narrates it but it doesn’t feel like she’s the main character. She’s not in it as much as some of the others and I really like her so wanted to see more of her. If she’s the one narrating the whole show then you’d expect her to be in it more than she is.
The professor annoyed me. He planned out this perfect heist and planted himself into the lead investigators life. It’s just obvious. This guy has come into her life at the same time as the heist started. I don’t know how she wasn’t suspicious. Then it’s revealed that he’s falling for her. Well, that’s just silly because he can’t stay with her. He’ll have to end it sooner or later or she’ll figure him out. I don’t understand why he’s putting himself and her through it, she’s been through enough as it is.
There are certain relationships between the heist men and some of the hostages as well which I don’t understand. Why would you sleep with someone who has locked you up in a building and keeps pointing a gun at you? It’s very odd.
I like the structure of the show. The flashbacks really help with the story and the pacing. I feel the show is perfectly paced. I also like the fact that each episode focuses on a different hour of the heist. It really helps to keep an understanding of how many days they’ve been doing it for.
It’s a fantastic TV show. Please don’t let subtitles put you off because it’s worth the watch. Netflix also allows you to watch foreign TV shows dubbed so if you don’t want to read subtitles you have the option to watch it dubbed.
