Honey: Rise Up and Dance

Plot: An aspiring dancer competes for a scholarship to one of the top colleges even though her family and boyfriend disapprove.

Director: Bille Woodruff

Starring: Teyana Taylor, Bryshere Y. Gray, Sierra McClain, Candice Craig, Charmin Lee.

I Don’t understand why these movies are still continuing to be made. I watched it because I’m a sucker for dance movies. I love the Step Up films and Footloose. However, this one was nowhere near as good as any of those.

The characters were likeable but the story was predictable. I always feel like dance movies are all the same. New characters but the same story. This one doesn’t have any originality to it. However, it’s entertaining and the dance sequences are enjoyable. I would say if you’re a dance movie fan then give this a miss, it’s nothing special.
