Moving on from Mike’s secret has been a long time coming. I’m so glad the show is finally past it. In terms of development for these characters, I think season seven has served them well. Donna has finally got what she wanted in her career and it’s about time. Her relationship with Harvey progressed the most during this season. That mid-season finale left me shocked for about two days. We’ve waited seven years for that kiss to happen and then we had a long wait for the show to return to see the repercussions.
I did feel sorry for Harvey after the kiss because of his relationship with Paula but I do think he’s kidding himself. Donna and Harvey both are. There was a lot of backwards and forwards between these characters and at times I felt their relationship was beyond repair but they continued to make their way back to each other. I just wish they’d either decide to be friends or just get together already. To be honest, I’m not even sure which I’d prefer at this point, it’s such a rollercoaster keeping up with these two.
Episode 14 was one of my favourite episodes of the season. Donna and Rachel kicked ass which I loved. Louis continued to break my heart throughout and then he got his happy ending which he deserves massively. I really want Louis to get a happy ending so I hope the next season doesn’t ruin it for me.
I was slightly disappointed with the finale because it was to set up the spin-off show involving Jessica. I hate it when shows get spin-offs because they always dedicate an episode introducing the new show and it feels like a waste. I was supposed to be watching a suits finale not the first episode of a new spin-off.
Throughout the seven seasons, I have disliked Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel. For me, she has been the worst and most annoying character so when it was revealed she’d be leaving I was super happy. However, she is taking Mike with her. I tolerated Mike. I didn’t particularly like him and didn’t particularly dislike him. He was just there but he and Rachel are a huge part of the show so season eight is going to be strange with them both missing. I think I might enjoy it even more though, unless they bring in some more annoying characters. It is going to be interesting to see how the show does now without two of its main characters. I for one am excited to see a new dynamic.
