I’m not a fan of Steven Morrissey but Jack Lowden plays him in this biopic so I couldn’t resist. The film’s trailer also showed similarities with Sing Street and I loved that film so I thought I’d give this one a go. Even though it wasn’t that similar to Sing Street when watching it, I still very much enjoyed watching it.

I love watching films about the music scene in the 70s, 80s and 90s, they fascinate me and because I prefer the way music was back then and how it was distributed, I really enjoy watching them. I also love the fashion back then and sometimes wish I was alive back then. It looks like so much fun. I love watching films that are based on the music scenes in Liverpool and Manchester, they’re cool places for music.

I don’t think you have to be a fan of Steven Morrissey to watch this film, I’m not and I enjoyed it. If you’re into music films like this then I think you’ll love it.
