Plot: After Abbie is diagnosed with terminal cancer she makes it her mission to find her fiance and best friend since childhood a new love.
Director: Stephanie Laing
Starring: Michiel Huisman, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kate McKinnon, Claire Holt, Christopher Walken.
The film feels half-hearted. It also lacks emotion and with a story like this, you’d expect at least a bit of emotion. Abbie, who is diagnosed, has a very positive outlook on life and even after she gets her diagnosis, she still has fun and jokes around. She doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for herself, she gets on with whats left of her life. However, the characters just didn’t seem to care. I felt there was a real lack of connection with the characters and the story.
It feels like a very pointless film. There are better films out there that are similar. Having said that, I think this film tells quite a real story in a sense that Abbie’s first response to being diagnosed with cancer is to find her partner a new partner. If it was made with more invested actors then I think it could have been a bigger hit.
The film has some moments of charm but frankly has no steam and therefore it becomes boring to watch.
