I binged watched the first season in one day, that’s how good it was. The very first episode had me hooked. The performances by the main four characters are outstanding. Shows like this, that really focus on the gritty style of storytelling and character development, are phenomenal. It’s shows like this that make me believe that TV is better than film, which I honestly believe is true.
The first season focuses on the affair as it begins but it tells it in a fractured way. We see it from the man’s point of view and the woman’s and they’re both different. It really shows that there are two sides to every story and that everyone tells things differently. Unfortunately, we don’t get the third part of the story which would essentially be the truth. We never find out which is the true story but that’s what makes it good and what keeps you hooked. It really is an extraordinary way of telling the story. It’s different.
I can’t wait to finish the rest of the seasons and catch up because it is really entertaining. There’s also a murder mystery that is intertwined within the story that will have you gripped. There’s so much depth to this story, I’ve never seen a show that has so much detail and has felt this real before.
