Happy Death Day (2017)

Plot: After waking up in someone else’s bed more than once, a student soon realises that she’s reliving the same day over and over again. The day ends with a masked man killing her. She tries everything to survive and move on to the next day but she keeps waking up on the morning of her birthday. Each time she wakes up she is weaker than before, will she survive this awful day before it’s too late?

Director: Christopher B. Landon

Starring: Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken.

Kind of terrible but kind of great at the same time. It’s not a masterpiece but it is very entertaining and enjoyable. Carter was my favourite character, he’s the guy whos bedroom the main character wakes up in every morning. He was my favourite part of the story. I wasn’t keen on the main actress, I sometimes found her annoying.

To see the story repeats a lot because it is showing the same day over and over again, it never dragged or felt too repetitive. Enough changed to keep it interesting. It never got boring. It’s really easy to watch. I’d say it’s an excellent slasher film. If you’re into slashers then definitely watch this one, you won’t be disappointed.

A great slasher film!
