The only thing that is new about this story being told is that the illness is different. We’ve had this concept a thousand times before but you can still enjoy it because of the actors and characters. They’re likeable.
It is a very bright film. Everything is so white and clean but I guess that’s why they colour graded it like that. The house is sterilised so that the main character doesn’t catch anything and become severely ill and potentially die.
It’s an easy going film about two teenagers who fall in love and she ends up going to extreme lengths to be with him. The characters are relatable and you can understand why they do what they do.
I loved the soundtrack, it was very fresh and modern. Soundtracks in movies have really progressed the past few years and I like it when they use popular songs. The popular songs in this film go with the characters and their story because it’s the type of music that they’ll be listening to.
It’s not a film that I would rave about but its got a short running time and it is enjoyable to watch once, at least. The ending was quite shocking but it’s easy to see coming if you’re paying attention to the film. The two main characters have already been in quite a few films but they’re much older now so I’m looking forward to seeing them in more and more stuff.
A sad coming of age love story!
