Lights Out (2016)

Plot: A supernatural being lurks in the dark, terrorising a little boy. Rebecca must fight to protect her little brother and discover what this supernatural being is here for.

Director: David F. Sandberg

Starring: Teresa Palmer, Maria Bello, Gabriel Bateman, Alexander DiPersia, Billy Burke.

It’s got an excellent premise and its set up is promising but it’s nothing special. It’s an ordinary horror film with nothing original. The film tried to scare its audience but I believe it failed to do that. It’s amateurish. It didn’t feel genuine. Fortunately, there are better horror films out there.

The characters are likeable and you do route for them. That’s the only thing that kept me interested in getting to the end of the film. I wanted to see if they’d make it out alive. I didn’t think the film was particularly creepy either so it doesn’t really have anything going for it.

A missable horror film!
