There’s nothing I love more than an awesome zombie movie. This is the first foreign zombie film I’ve seen and it is fantastic. They kind of do it better than Hollywood. Obviously, it’s going to be remade in English because what foreign film is ever left alone? It really angers me when they remake absolutely everything. It’s never the same. People should just get over the stigma surrounding subtitles. There’s nothing wrong with them. I will not be watching the English version of this film because the Korean version was brilliant and there’s no need for it to be remade.
28 Days Later and 28 Months Later are probably the best zombie films to be made but I would definitely put this film on par with those two. I think it meets the same standards and it pulls at the heart strings.
There were some really likeable characters on the train and that’s what makes the film quite sad. Obviously, this being a zombie film, there are deaths and they’re quite sad. The best part about the film is the fact that they weren’t afraid to kill off any character. The end was a shock because I wasn’t expecting the main character to die but it really worked and I’m glad they did it. It made the ending emotional and I honestly, nearly shed a tear. Seeing the little girl cry over losing her father was heartbreaking.
You really care about these characters and you really route for them which is never a good thing with a zombie film because there’s no guarantee that the people you’re routeing for are going to survive.
Like the two English zombie films I have mentioned above, I can watch this film over and over again. It’s highly entertaining and there’s some real character development. Especially with the main protagonist. I recommend that any zombie film fanatics out there watch this film because you will absolutely love it.
It’s a remarkable zombie film!
