Miss Sloane

Plot: Elizabeth Sloane faces her toughest and most powerful opponent yet, in this high-stakes political thriller.

Year: 2016

Director: John Madden

Starring: Jessica Chastain, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, John Lithgow, Alison Pill and Jake Lacy.

Jessica Chastain is the best part about this film. Her performance is powerful. She is a very strong independent female in the political world, she has a voice and it’s inspiring. I think this is the first time I’ve seen her in a film and I thought she was fantastic. She makes the film. She is riveting.

Is this the right time to bring out a film about politics? It was quite refreshing actually because it had a female lead in an unusual position for females. This story definitely needed to be told.

The film gives you quite a rush because it’s so intriguing and a bit intense in places and the drama builds really well. I loved the structure and the story. It was just a really well-told story. I’m not a huge fan of political dramas but I was so drawn into this film. It’s a must watch for everyone, in my opinion.

Rating: 8/10.
