The Bad Mother’s Handbook

Plot: Based on the novel of the same name by Kate Long, this drama film focuses on the life of a young teenager when she discovers she’s pregnant.

Year: 2007

Director: Robin Sheperd

Starring: Robert Pattinson, Catherine Tate, Kate Long, Holiday Grainger and Anne Reid.

This was a television drama film with only one hour and a half as its running time so if you’re wanting to watch something light and something that doesn’t take up too much time then this film is for you.

Robert Pattinson is unrecognisable. He is completely different to any other role he’s ever done. He is really good in this as a shy teenager. Catherine Tate was great too, I’ve always loved her as an actress.

The film has a few laughs along the way and it’s quite a cute story. If you were to compare it to other films with the same story, like Juno then it doesn’t come close to being as good but it’s still really heart-warming and definitely worth the watch.

Rating: 6/10.
