The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Charlie (Logan Lerman) always watches from the outside and is never actually involved with anything until two teens take him under their wings and become his friends. They show him friendship, love and music. However, a dark secret from his past could shatter his newfound happiness. Also starring Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman, Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh and Dylan McDermott.the-perks-of-being-a-wallflower-party-scene.jpg

I absolutely loved this film. It’s so emotional and you just drawn to it from the very start. It’s a coming-of-age drama that really shows how mental health can affect people. Especially young people going through the struggles of high school. It’s definitely a must read book and a must see film. I don’t know anyone that hasn’t seen it. The story is told so beautifully, that it breaks my heart at the end. Logan Lerman is brilliant, it’s my favorite role of his. Emma Watson is just stunning in this film. It’s faultless. I feel like the film isn’t just for the younger audiences, I think the older audience can be drawn to it as well. I think it’s the best high school film that’s ever been made because it’s serious and daunting and so true to what high school is actually like. the-perks-of-being-a-wallflower-2.jpg

I think it’s the best high school film that’s ever been made because it’s serious and daunting and so true to what high school is actually like. It has the feel of a true story but it’s purely fiction but it works so well because it’s extremely relatable. Perks-Being-Wallflower-Wardrobe.jpg

The ending to this film gives me so many feels. If you’re going to watch it for the first time I’d definitely have a tissue at the ready. The first time I watched it I cried a little bit, the second time not so much because I knew it was coming. It’s not a film where you will sob your heart out but if you feel emotionally attached to the character you’re definitely going to shed a tear or two. The speech at the end is one of the best speeches ever said in a film. I loved it.
