Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is facing deportation to Canada so she decides to lie to everyone and pretends to be engaged to her assistant, Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds). He agrees but on the conditions that she goes to his families for the weekend to celebrate his grandmother Gammy’s (Betty White) 90th birthday and that she promotes him to editor.
It takes a lot for me to watch comedies more than once and this is certainly one that I’ve watched many times and will continue to watch it more times. I think it’s brilliant and the chemistry between Reynolds and Bullock is amazing. It’s just such a funny film. I think it’s definitly my favourite film for Ryan Reynolds and I think it’s on par with Heat for Sandra Bullock.
My favourite bit in the film is when Bullock and Betty White are dancing in the woods and Bullock’s character starts to sing Get Low which has a few naughty words in there for a 90 year olds ears. It’s just a hilarious scene. If you like a romantic comedy then this is unmissable.
