Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) is a boring middle-aged father living in the suburbs. After fixating on a girl called Angela (Mena Suvari), his daughters best friend, he decides it’s time for a change and starts smoking pot and even quits his job much to the disdain of his wife Carolyn (Annette Bening). Also starring Wes Bentley, Peter Gallagher, Thora Birch, Chris Cooper and Allison Janney.
The way they told the story of each of the characters was done really well I thought. Even though Spacey’s character was the main focus, each of the other characters had just enough screen time to have the right amount of development. It’s done in a way that makes you feel for each of them.
I’d always wanted to watch this film because of all the positivity about it but to be honest I don’t really get it. I didn’t think it was that amazing. The performances were great but I just found it a little boring. Maybe it just wasn’t for me. I don’t think I’d recommend it and I wouldn’t watch it again.
