Louis Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal) starts a career as a cameraman who takes shots of grisly crimes. When he gets involved in a news studio he goes to greater lengths to get better shots which will make them more money.
I’ve been wanting to see this film since, well since it came out but never got round to it until now but I didn’t really enjoy it unfortunately. It looked really good and I really wanted to like it but I just didn’t which is a shame. It has a really good concept but for me I just found it a little boring.
I found it really hard to connect with the film, I couldn’t connect with the characters at all and it made it hard to get into the film, it didn’t grip me. I couldn’t escape into the film.
Even though I didn’t like it I can see why people do and the acting was really great. The film takes place entirely at night and the atmosphere to Los Angeles is really eerie. Thrillers are my favourite genre of film so I thought this would be a hit for me but I guess it just wasn’t for me.
