The Lazarus Project

After receiving the lethal injection, Ben Garvey (Paul Walker) wakes in a psychiatric hospital where he must figure out what’s going on before it’s too late. It’s very well acted and put together but I found it a little slow. It took me a while to get into it but once I did I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. 1390656179-TheLazarus-o *Contains Spoilers* This film reminded me a lot of Shutter Island, especially with the twist. I knew throughout the film that there was going to be a twist and when we first meet the dog and he starts digging but Ben refuses to see what he’s digging at and the dog keeps digging in the same spot throughout the movie, I just wanted him to dig to see what was there but obviously he didn’t until the very end. In terms of the twist it is the same as Shutter Island in a way that It is revealed that Ben is actually a patient there instead of working there. However, whereas in Shutter Island this is believed to be true, in this film it turns out that he’s not a patient. warningThis was a fantastic twist but I feel like nothing happened for most of the film and then all of a sudden in the last half an hour everything was packed in. I would say I enjoyed this film a lot but I do prefer Shutter Island to this because it’s a lot darker and mysterious and I never saw the twist coming. I think if I’d have seen this film before seeing Shutter Island I would have found the twist more shocking. I would recommend watching this film especially if you’re a fan of Paul Walker. It also stars Piper Perabo who used to be in Home and Away a long time ago. She also starred in Coyote Ugly. If you’ve seen Shutter Island then give this ago and vice versa. MCDLAPO EC009
